Maeva Metz
Maeva joined the lab in the summer of 2022 as a postdoctoral associate after completing her doctoral studies at Weill Cornell Medical College (NYC) under the mentorship of Dr. Randy Longman. Maeva’s thesis work investigated the role of gut microbial metabolism and immunoglobulin immunogenicity in inflammatory bowel disease and extra-intestinal manifestations. In the Balskus lab, Maeva is continuing to pursue her research interests in the gut microbiome by investigating the role of biogenic amine production by the gut microbiome in atopic diseases. When Maeva isn’t in the lab, you can find her hiking with her puppy Lucy.
